Selfportraits in Dutch streets

I never felt very inspired by the dutch landscape. I always felt that it is boring, and dull. Coming from Australian heritage, I have been told stories about wild landscapes, sunny and dry days and an endless amount of space ever since I can remember. I felt jealous that I couldn’t live amongst those wonders and travelled as much as I could to surround myself with more dynamic landscapes and cities. Anywhere with hills, harsh sun or different concrete streets already inspire me endlessly in my photographic works. Anywhere but the Dutch streets and landscape that I know too well. During the corona-pandemic, travelling was not an option anymore and I felt that I should face the landscape around me. I forced myself to connect with the Dutch landscape, the streets, the flatness, the lack of sun and my boredom of it.
